Dear People,
Hi I'm Rosalie Schmidt. My family and I moved to La Junta in 1979. At the time my family consisted of my husband and four children. Slowly things changed – children married, husband died, the normal things of life. In 2004 I moved to Irving, Texas.
My oldest daughter and her family live there. This was fine for a few years. But I never got used to the "big city;" too much traffic and so many different highways to get you to your destination. Also it's difficult to get to know folks. Their attitudes are different in large cities.
So I decided to move back to "my family." I consider La Junta my family. People are friendly. Those I've known for 25 years have all welcomed me back with hugs and kisses and open arms.
La Junta is a terrific city and I'm delighted to be back. La Junta is a great place to raise your family, and a fine community. I've bought a home in Prairie Estates. It's not expensive and homes are available.Come join me –

In 1992, with the assistance of the City of La Junta , I moved my unprofitable 30 employee manufacturing business from Minnesota to La Junta,Colorado. Today,15 years later, Lewis Bolt & Nut is profitable and with 140 employees is the largest private employer in La Junta.
The Mayor, the City Council and La Junta Development were and still are consistent advocates for our business, our customers and our employees. Through two expansions our partnership continues to benefit both the City and Lewis Bolt.
La Junta is large enough to meet our needs and still completely sensitive and appreciative of the fact that only through working together will the best results be achieved.
The City of La Junta is definitely CUSTOMER FOCUSED.Mark Paper
